Overview of Start writing fiction from the Open University
In the introduction it says: "This OpenLearn course provides a sample of Level 1 study in Creative Writing." What exactly that means I don't know quite yet, but I will probably find out later.According to the description this course covers the Character, the Setting and the Genre.
The course leans on the material "The Fiction Writer's Workshop" by Josip Novakovich.
One can also download the course as a free eBook.
And there also seem to be practices as part of this course.
Enrolling on Open University
Above the course there is this banner.
It says that you should enroll to access the full course and to get a recognition. This is all sead under the heading "Study this free course". Well, in my case I quickly saw that you shouldn't do that. When I cklicked there they just started asking me from which country I am and redirecting me to more information about the studies and degrees that in the end I just wanted to know how much this service costed, just so I could see that this wasn't "the free thing" anymore - because that was pretty obvious. Well in the end I finally found the proces and they were in the thousands. I went back to the course-page I started from.
Lets see what I'll find when I start this course.
