I have told you, that I have chosen to use a Pseudonym, so perhaps you are wondering why I chose Kim A. Dreamreich?
I don't quite know.
I thought about my alias for a long time and tried to ingrain little messages into it.
Then those names turned out to be really bad or already in use.
So I gave myself 5 minutes to come up with a name I would be comfortable with.
Kim came immediately to my mind. I had always liked that name and in some ways it reminds me of my own name, because both are equally feminine and masculine at the same time.
Then I wanted to have a Surname that told something about me, I thought about Dreamrich, but that somehow didn't sound right, but I liked the Dream- part, it fit me.
Then I thought: why not combine English with German: Reich.
Reich means a realm, a kingdom, an empire. And reich also means rich, wealthy, opulent.
Dreamrealm, rich with dreams, a kingdom full of dreams. What could describe writing better?
KIM DREAMREICH. I liked the sound. But something was missing still.
I had ingrained a part of my own name into the alias with the masculinity/femininity in Kim and the Surname had both German and English in them and described the possibilities of writing, of the mind.
But my native languages are German and Finnish (at least almost). Where does the Finnish Language show in that name? That is where the middle name comes from, the A.
When I was small, I always wanted my name to be Anna, a more typical Name. And now I had the possibility to make my wish come true. I would be Kim Anna Dreamreich...
But... that just didn't sound good. So I just used the initial. Kim A. Dreamreich.
And it felt like it fit me.
So, I am Kim A. Dreamreich.
Have a nice week!
